November 14, 2007 Meeting Minutes

Happy Holidays to Friends and Family from the Puyallup Hawg Hunters

The meeting was called to order at 7:15 pm and adjourned at 8:46 pm.  No one claimed the Big Fish pot, however Mike Hostetter gave the Big Fish program over to Bob Graff.   Mary Alvarado from Mary Bridge was in to thank the club for their donations. Stephanie presented Mary with a $ 1700 cash donation.

Program Activity:  There was no program activity.

Tips, Tactics and Techniques:  
 Shawn McDaniels talked about techniques to prevent line twist when drop shotting by using a different style hook.  Daniel Thomas and Chuck Warner are on for December.

Raffle: The raffle generated $67.

Treasurer’s Report:  Stephanie Strasbaugh reported a balance of $1629.44 with year end trophies as yet unpaid.

The October minutes as posted on the Internet were approved.

Conservation Report:  No report

Federation Report: Larry Williams is the new Vice President and will have to step down as the club’s Federation rep. Mack Randle is considering on taking over this responsibility.  Larry also went over the largemouth restriction on the Lower Columbia.  May 3rd Moses Lake, June 14th Whatcom and July 26th Pot Holes is the 2008 tournament schedule and the club will need a 10 man team (5 boaters and 5 non-boaters) submitted by January.  The next Federation meeting is March 8th in Elensburg.  Jim Owens will be stepping down as youth director and they will be looking for volunteers.  TBF has begun taking updates for 2008 memberships on-line. 

Tournament Report: Larry Williams went over the Mickelson finishes and how 4 of the top 5 were Hawg Hunters. Frank White talked about how Mike Hastings and him fished to win the Mickelson. Larry W. also went over the club finishers and how Kenny G. took angler of the year by winning Sunday’s club tournament. Kenny talked about his techniques he used to win on Sunday. Larry W. also went over the 2008 club tournament schedule.

Fishing Report:  Frank White talked about a recent weekend catching 14 quality largemouth on Lake X.

Safety: No report

Old Business: 
Craig Taylor thanked the club for the donation for the trip to Alabama and talked about his experience.

Banquet Report: The club accepted Stephanie’s idea of having the club Banquet in January instead of December.  So there will be a quick meeting on December 12th to go over the Banquet and the 2008 ten man State team.

New Business:  Daniel Thomas is the buddy for new member Hernandez "DEZ" Ruffin and Jaymee Starsbaugh is the the buddy for new member Ryan Fattore.
