10/10/10 Pot Holes
Club Tournament Interviews

The final tournament of the year saw 12 boats and 17 anglers fishing under adverse conditions with cool temperatures, rain and wind.  Water temperature were a seasonable low 60's.  The largemouth bite was good but the smallies just didn't cooperate with half of the anglers blanking and only two limits brought to the scales.

Finishing first with 12.54 pounds was Ken Ganancial.. This was Kenny's second victory of the year, his 20th overall which wrapped up his seventh Angler of the Year title.  Kenny said, "I fished all over the East and West channel fishing areas that I haven't fished for years hoping that they weren't fished on Saturday.  I would only catch one fish per area so I had to run and gun all throughout the day.  I caught seven keeper fish, all except one were caught drop shotting a Robo Worm. The other fish caught on a 1/2 ounce football head with a Hula Grub.  I caught fish in 15 to 35 ft on docks, rock piles and weed lines.  There was no particular pattern I just had to fish everything".

In second place with 11.69 pounds and the second angler with a 5 fish limit was Shawn McDaniel.  Shawn said, "
I was struggling until about 12:30 when I caught my first fish on a jig in about 28 feet.  After another half an hour I gave up on rock and decided to fish some bridge pilings.  In the first 5 minutes I had my second fish and began to catch one after the other.  30 minutes later I had my 5.  From there I decided to try some deep docks and ended up catching 4 more and culled twice.  It ended up being a real good day.  All of my fish were caught on drop shot in 25 to 30 ft.  It just goes to show you that sometimes you have to change it up if things aren't happening for you".

Finishing third with four fish weighing 7.25 pounds was Jaymee Strasbaugh.  Jaymee said,  ........ .......................... .................

Finishing fourth with three largemouths weighing 6.35 pounds was Doug Jorgensen.  Doug said, "
I fished for largemouths figuring the warm water temp (61) would have them active.  I caught about 10 largemouth, but only 3 would keep.  I caught all my fish on spinnerbaits where the weeds break from right at the surface to 10 feet deep while fishing the east channel and the north end of the lake.  Edges of flats was key to finding fish".

Rounding out the top five was Luke Morgan with two smallies weighing 4.25 pounds.  Luke said, .........
