Club
Elections
Club officer elections were held at the
September club meeting. The new officers take office at the October club
meeting. The new officers are:
President - Doug Jorgensen, Treasurer - Ken Ganancial,
Tournament Director - Franco Stone,
Secretary - Gerald Dunn
Chuck Warner will be the new Federation Rep! As with any new
administration it will take some time to get into the swing of things.
Help your new officers by supporting them and helping out at the club
meetings.

Newsletter
With plans to spend November through
April in Texas this year I decided that 72 Newsletters and 7 years as
club president were quite enough. I only hope that club members
give Doug Jorgensen, our new president, the same support and respect
that I received while serving as president. I'm sure that Doug
will provide the leadership and direction to continue to make the Hawg
Hunters the best club in the state.
2001 Mary Bridge Pledge
A 2001 Mary
Bridge Donation Solicitation letter is available on the club
Website. Members should be working on getting pledges for Mary Bridge
since the tournament is only a short month away.
Member of the Year
Congratulations to Ken Ganancial and Eric Woods
who tied for Member of the Year.

Vantage Results
The September 15 and 16 club tournament at
Vantage saw 21 anglers fishing with surprisingly wind free conditions
and temperatures in the high 80's and low 90's. 17 of 21
anglers weighed fish. Congratulations to Kevin Foote for his first
club tournament win. Tom Melowitz was second and Art Soto was
third. Joe Perrin had big fish with a 3.56 pound smallie but since
he failed to get into the big fish pot Kevin won the big fish
pot. Nice going Joe! When you see Joe tell him - Nice
Going! Full tournament results are on the club's Web
Site.
Lake Washington
Tournament
The next club tournament is on the Lake
Washington on October 21st. This will be an important
tournament for club members vying to fish on the 2002 state team. Non boaters should be working on
pairing up with boaters.
Most Improved
Joe Perrin is leading the most Most
Improved for 2001 with 19 points. Several members are
within striking distance!
Mickelsen
Open
Kevin Foote is looking for volunteers who will not
be fishing the tournament to work
the Mickelsen Open on October 20th at Lake Washington. Please see
Kevin at the October club meeting if you can help out. Six or more
volunteers are needed. |
Club Dues
Just a reminder! The
club constitution states that club
Dues of $56 are payable by the October club meeting.
Club
Web Site
We received an email from GeoCities ( Yahoo) indicating that our Web
Site had exceeded the limit of 3 Gigabytes of data transfer per
month. Actually that's a little over 4 megabytes during a one hour
period. They will begin enforcing this restriction so we will
probably have to buy additional data transfer capacity or have the Web
Site shut down when we exceed the existing capacity. The Web Site is
very popular and has been receiving a great deal of traffic!
Banks
Lake Federation Qualifier
Results
The September 22/23 Banks Lake Qualifier saw
outstanding eastern Washing weather with sunny skies and temperatures in
the 80's and very little wind! The club was in second place after
day 1 but slipped to fourth place after day 2. Several members had
limits on day 1 but only Franco Stone ( 8th place ) finished in the top
25. Franco finished 9th overall in the state and will be going to
the California Delta next year to represent Washington. This will be
Franco's 9th time on the state team. The club finished 4th in the
qualifier series for the year! Congratulations to the members of the
state team.
