November 2011

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to inform everyone that I will not be attending the November meeting.  My company is sending me to Portland for the entire week.  I did want to get the agenda out for those who are attending and the few things that are in need of discussion.

Program Activity:
We have not had one of these in a few years.  In fact, the last one I remember is Mike Peruse from G. Loomis about 4 years ago talking about his rods.  We need to do a better job at organizing these.  If anyone knows reps, WDFW officers, even employees of stores that would like to promote their business, give me a heads up and we can organize them coming in for a meeting.

Tip and Tactics:
Joe is on.

Conservation Report:
Russ can report on if his comity has meet and what their ideas are.  We have not done an official activity this year, and the report is due on the 11th.

Tournament Report:
It would be nice if Gerold and Ryan discussed their win at the Club Fish Off at Lake Samamish.  The club finished second and grossed $350 for the clubs general fund.  Great job to all those that participated!  We were only about 1 fish away from winning!!!  Next year....

Federation Report:
The annual banquet is on Saturday the 11th at Lake Chelan.  It looks like a good time, and all are welcome.  Food, trap shooting and a change of leadership will highlight this event.  I recommend that if you can go, it should be well worth the drive and cost.

Old Business:
Dues are due!  The state gets a kick back for every club member paid before the end of the year.  Plus, it's a lot of work for Wayne and Kevin to get you in the FLW system.  Giving them adequate time is very beneficial.  Remember, they have lives too and can't sit by waiting for you.  (sorry, guilt trip.)

New amendment to be discussed and voted on.  Please consider the amendments ahead of time to shorten the discussion to a reasonable time.  The amendments are 2 separate issues and need to be voted on separately.
#1  Omitting the wording of "Have attended at least 3/4 of the club meetings and 3/4 of the club functions."  to the requirements of being a club officer.  It is up to you to decide how involved you think the leadership of the club should be.
#2  Adding rules that would only allow paid members to be able to accumulate points and to add a $10 late fee to those who do not pay their dues by the November club meeting.  This will make it easier on the club officers to process dues, and will also give clear ruling on a possible issue.

Remember, the constitution was written by the founding members of the club and it should not be changed unless it is necessary.  But, some items may be outdated.  Please take your vote seriously.

Old Business:
Unfortunately, Mike Coffey, due to personal issues, will not be able to participate in the club in 2012.  There for, we get to, again, nominate and vote in a new tournament director.  If you feel that you are going to attend a large portion of the tournaments next year, and are competent enough to push a button an a scale, you qualify.  I will be as much help as I can be.  I will be happy to run the opens if you are not comfortable with that and will be available to help at most club tourneys.  So, don't be afraid!!!

I would also like to give a special thanks to Ryan for his tips and tactics in the October meeting.  I don't ever remember a meeting where so many guys volunteered so much fishing information.  Great job Ryan!

Everyone, this club is about fishing, fun, and making friends.  Even though this is a lot of stuff to cover for the November meeting, lets try and get through it as quickly as possible so everyone can get back to those four things.  Hopefully giving you all an agenda will allow you to be prepared for the meeting and speed up the business parts.  If you would like to discuss any of these issues with me before the meeting, feel free to call, text or e-mail.  I will be happy to discuss it with you.  I would like to hear your thoughts and can hopefully answer any questions.

Tight Lines,
Aaron Christel
