October 2003 Club Meeting Minutes

October 8, 2003 Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:15 pm and adjourned at 8:30 pm. No one claimed the Big Fish pot. There were no special guests.

Program Activity: There was no program activity.

Tips, Tactics and Techniques: Eric Woods talked about a website called bassresource.com.
The article discussed the noises we unknowingly make that bothers the fish.   Rob Towers will cover Tips, Tactics and Techniques next month.

Raffle: There was no raffle.

Treasurer’s Report:  Mike Buse reported a balance $1606.54 with 12 members paying their dues at the meeting.

Minutes: The September minutes as posted on the Internet were approved.

Conservation Report: Larry Guck indicated that there will be no more Banks Lake Enhancement Projects for conservation after April 1st 2004. We discussed other options to fulfill our conservation requirements.

Federation Report: Chuck Warner reported that Tournament Permit Applications are due by October 14th. Lake Roosevelt requires a $35 permit to launch from Spring Canyon. Chuck discussed the Federation’s new proposal for the Qualifier format: One tournament held a year for $100 per person, with their being no maximum number of participants from each club. The club accepted this proposal for our representative to vote on at next the November Federation meeting. The club passed a motion for the club to continue to pay for the top 10 club finishers for the Federation tournaments.

Tournament Report: None.

Safety: New members need to get their safe boater’s certificates. There is a link from our website to take the test.

Old Business: None.
