November 12, 2008 Meeting Minutes


The meeting began at 7:05 PM and adjourned at 9:00 PM.  No one claimed the big fish pot.  There were no special guests.

Program Activity:   There was no program activity.

Tips, Tactics and Techniques:   There was no T, T and T.  George Beegle and Mike Buse are on for December.

Raffle:  The raffle generated $57.

Treasurerís Report: 
Stephanie reported a total of $4945.55.  Payment for the year end trophies and the Mary Bridge donations have yet to be consummated.

Minutes:  The minutes from October were as accepted as posted on the Internet.

Banquet Report:   The annual Banquet will be January 17th at the Milton Tavern.

Conservation Report: No Report.

Safety:  No Report.

Federation Report:  Gerald talked about:   a) How the club made $675 from the raffle at the Federation Awards Banquet  and the Club finishing 3rd in the State which made $200 for the club.   b) Daniel Thomas volunteered to send a monthly e-mail to Gary Morris explaining what the club is doing, including tournament results and special events.   c) That Federation Members get a 25% discount and State Team Members get an additional 50% off dealer cost off of Lowrance Electronics. d) Insurance coverage for Federation Members.   He mentioned a new insurance company specifically for tournament anglers: FISHON INSURANCE  887-706-1396.   e) Tournament rule changes: the WDFW has proposed a motion that permit requests be in July. It has also been noted that when fishing on the Columbia it is acceptable to lock up or down one pool in a tournament.  There will not be a boat given away in 2009.  There will be a blind raffle after each tournament with $1000 to be given away after the Banks Lake tournament, $1000 to be given away after the 1st Lake Washington and $5000 after the 2nd Lake Washington (if you have fished all three).   f)  Motion Presented: there was a motion made to change the off limits for the Federation tournaments from Sunday midnight the weekend before to midnight on Thursday before the tournament with the club in Favor of the new change. g) We will be working the Puyallup Sportsmenís show 1/22 12-8 and 1/25 10-4.  Let Gerald know if you would be interested in volunteering.

Tournament Report: Larry Williams talked about Rob and Chuck winning the Mickelson Open and the clubs top three finishers with Hoss the overall winner for Sundayís Lake Washington tournament.  He mentioned that the 2009 tournament schedule has been submitted and is officially posted on the website.  As the Vice President of the Federation he talked about how the Awards Banquet went smooth and thanked the club.  The club took 3rd overall and was awarded a trophy and $200.

Old Business:  The club voted in Luke Morgan and Brent Lagasa as new members of the Puyallup Hawg Hunters.  Mark Merzena talked to the club about considering trying a new trophy supplier.  Larry Williams will supply the club with a weigh tank similar to the one he made and the club will reimburse him once it is completed.  There will be A CLUB MEETING on December 10th.  Aaron Christel mentioned our new sponsors and encouraged us to support all of our sponsors whenever possible.  Remember they are supporting what we love to do!

New Business: 
Hoss presented the club with 2 award banquet options 1. BBQ Petes or 2. Milton Tavern .  The club voted for Milton Tavern. It will be on January 17th at 6:00 pm with pizza buffet for $20 per person. In order to attend the 2008 Awards Banquet you will need to purchase a ticket for each person attending no later than the December club meeting from Hoss.

Club dues are now late.  There is a $10 late fee from here on for 2009 dues.

The club voted on a change to the Constitution as follows;

Article V Section I Removal of Membership

Failure for a second time to pay launch, camping or other agreed upon fees at an event where special arrangements were made for the entire club.

Tournament Rules

10.  Failure to pay agreed upon fees (launch, camping, etc.) at a tournament where special arrangements are made for the entire club will result in tournament disqualification for that event. Additionally a fine to be levied to the offending member or members equal to the omitted fees. The fine will need to be paid in full immediately in order to continue to participate in any club activities or events.
