Hawg Hunters Meeting Minutes

May, 9th, 2012 @ 7:00PM


1.       Meeting called to order at 7:23PM by president Aaron Christel

2.      Minutes from April  

3.      Attendance: Aaron Crystal President, Joe Sheperly Vice President, Wayne Bailey Treasure, Emmanuel Villarrel, Russ Krocker, Gerald Dunn, Kenny Ganancial, Mark Marzena, Ty Watterson, Adam Hokenson, Keone Omega and Tim Griswold. 

4.      New Business – Presented by Aaron Christel

Travis Archer was hit by a moving truck; he is in the hospital, not breathing on his own, but conscious, talking, moving around. 

5.      Big Fish – Emmanuel 4.92lb small mouth and Joe Sheperle 5.3lbs 

6.      Tips and Tactics – Dwayne was absent 

7.      Treasures Report – Presented by Wayne Bailey

$1977.40 in account – $936.28 Checking, $801.15 Savings, $240.00 Petty Cash 

8.     Conservation Report – Presented Russ Crocker

Free Day of fishing for single mothers and their children attached to a woman’s shelter on Lake Tapps.

Plan to be a van with the mothers and children at 7:00AM.  Safety training, emergency plan, licenses checked before launch at 7:30AM.  Gear provided by club – worms, small tackle, rods and reels (plan for something you will not cry if goes in the water) fishing until 11:45am.

Want to have BBQ and gifts given to children at 12:00PM.  Ends at 1:30PM. 

9.      Tournament reports – Presented by Mark

Lake Roosevelt – Kenny 1st Place, Dwayne Lyons 2nd Place, Emmanuel Gonzalez 3rd Place and Big Fish, Kenny says everything shallow, fishing with Tubes, no traps, Gerald – spots kept reloading on points, Manuel – no small fish below 10” 

10.   Federation Qualifier – Presented by Aaron Crystal

3 Hawg Hunters in the top ten. 10th Policy Man, 4th Aaron, and 3rd Jaymee – Drop Shot.  Response from club members to Gerald was that Saturday was smooth and well done, but Friday night lasted too late.   

11.    Lake Sammamish as a draw tournament, Lake Tapps will be a draw

tournament – draw happening at the next club meeting.  Discovery pass needed for Sammamish – year pass for $30.00, $7.00 for a launch fee 

12.   Fishing Report – Ryan Perrey – was catching fish right before the meeting

Russ - 1/10th the beds and they are vacant but big fish just cursing   

13.   Safety Report – get your life vest cartridges refilled, get a whistle or make

sure your horn is working, must have throwable readily accessible 

14.    New Business - August we do not have a club tournament, the federation

will have a tournament August 25th on Moses, fun club tournament at Potholes to support the team and have fun that weekend.   

No Raffle tonight

NOTES: Boater’s licenses from other states will work as long as you take a photo of your card and send the card copy and the number to the State
