Changes to the Permit
            Process

The state of Washington is in the process of potentially modifying the W.A.C. (Washington Administrative Code) which provides the foundation for limitations on lake fishing permits for contests.  Club members, with email, received an email forwarded from Bob Higbee indicating that the state was going to limit ABA to 7 events in total.  At the June 30th Potholes  ABA tournament, Marc Marcantonio, indicated that the Federation had sent a letter to the state recommending that organizations be limited to 5 events.  There is a lot of emotion surrounding this issue.  The facts are unclear and have not been presented to the club.  Rumors abound.  In fact, it's unclear what changes are being proposed.   While all club members are free to express themselves as individuals and bass fisherman, the club has not taken a position.  No one should be speaking for the club.  It is premature to take a position since the exact nature of the changes are still unknown.

    Pend Oreille Results

The Pend Oreille River club tournament saw 17 members and 9 boats fishing.  The facilities were outstanding for the club, the weather was decent, and everyone caught fish.  Perhaps because we were a  few weeks late we did not see the big fish for which  Pend Oreille is noted but the fishing was good and everyone reported having a good time.  Congratulations to Steve Holets for first place with over 22 pounds, Blaine Wesner for 2nd place and Kenny G for third place.  Rob McFarland, a past member, had a 4.11 largemouth for big fish.

Moses Lake

T
he next club tournament is on Moses Lake on July 21 and 22.  Non boaters should be working on teaming up with boaters.  We will be launching from the launch just south of exit 176 from Highway 90 (Peninsula Launch ).  The tournament will run until 3:00 pm on Saturday and 1:00 pm on Sunday.  Drink lots of water in advance as the temperatures will probably be in the 100's.

            Club Calendar

There is a club calendar showing club, ABA, Federation and other activities of importance to the club now on the club Website. If you would like to add something send it to Tom.
