The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM and adjourned at 9:10 PM.  No one claimed the big fish pot. There were no special guests.

Program Activity:
None.

Tips,Tactics, and Techniques: Aaron Christel talked about Dropshotting.  He uses braided line with a fluorocarbon leader.  He uses this combination because of  the very high sensitivity especially when fishing deep water.  When tying the hook always run the line back through eye so the hook stands out straight.  He prefers 12" to 15" between the hook and weight.  When you get a bite its very important to reel down on the fish or sweep the rod. Setting the hook can result in a lot of missed or improperly hooked fish.  Line sizes for braid should be from 10 to 15lbs and the fluorocarbon should be 4 to 6 pound test.  If fishing in heavier cover don't be afraid to go up in line size to 8 to 10 pound test.  When fishing structure try to be very precise, casting as close to object as possible.  This will increase your chances of getting bit.

Minutes:  The minutes from June were accepted as posted on web.

Treasurers Report: Wayne Bailey reported a balance of $1842.40 with no outstanding debts.

Conservation Report:   Russ Kroeker asked for advice and or suggestions on where to start.   Kevin Higgins has been in touch with Fish and Wildlife and says that Stream Restoration could be on the list for next year.  He will know more at the next meeting as far as what we will be doing as a club to fulfill our hours for 2011.

Tournament Report:  Seems like we need more discussion about the process surrounding changes to tournaments in the future.  The next  club tournament is Camas on the 20th and 21st of August. There has been a change to the launch site.  We will now be launching out of Marine Park on the Washington side. Take I-5 to the Camas Highway 14 exit east. Take the first exit to right. Take right at the stop. Take the next left, which should be Columbia Parkway. Follow Columbia Parkway for about a mile. It should turn into Marine Parkway which will lead you to the boat ramp.  You can find on MapQuest so there is no confusion. Look at club tournaments section for drivers meeting and weigh in times. Also,if you plan on fishing the Willamette River you will need a Oregon License.  Click on the following link for a Google Map of the launch; http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=45.613902,-122.63154&spn=0.00824,0.013711&t=h&z=16 .
