January 12, 2005 Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:11pm and adjourned at 8:20 pm.  No one claimed the big fish pot. 

Program Activity:  There was no program activity.

Tips, Tactics and Techniques:  
Mike Hostetter talked about safety, especially during the winter months.  Please make sure you are being safe out there.

Raffle: There was no raffle.

Treasurerís Report:  Mike Buse reported a balance of $2034.14

Minutes: 
The November 2004  minutes as posted on the Internet were approved.

Conservation Report:   Larry Guck reported that Largemouth Bass will be off-limits for tournament anglers on Banks Lake this year.

Fishing Reports:  None


Federation Report: Chuck Warner reported that the goal of the W.S.B.F. is to increase membership.  Starting in 2005, the club will get back $5 of the $15 membership fee for a new member signed up.  Marv Walker also talked about getting involved with the C.A.S.T. for Kids program.  The Federation is also pushing for a Junior Bassmaster circuit.

Tournament Report: 
Larry Williams indicated that the tournament schedule is posted on the website.  We have 15 sites reserved for Boyer Park (June 9th, 10th, 11th)  on a first come first serve basis. We still need to get a park permit for Lake Sammamish (Joe Scheperle will acquire the permit).

Safety: The State of Washington will be moving forward with the mandatory boat operatorís license.  This program is expected to be in place by 2007.

Old Business: The Christmas party came out to $14 per person.   Please pay if you haven't already done so.  This includes people that committed to go but were unable to attend.

The club voted on the first motion made by Tom in November (Angler of the Year regarding ties).  The motion carried unanimously.  It will now read: Ties at the end of the year will be determined by the  highest total points for the year, if still tied then the highest total weight  for the year, if still tied then the biggest fish of the year.

The club then voted on the second motion made by Tom in November (Most  Improved).  The motion carried unanimously. It will now read: Most Improved Ė Awarded to the member with the greatest positive point difference (must be greater than 0) between the  current and immediately prior year (only the 5 highest tournaments count). At least 5 club tournaments must be fished in both years.


 Doug Jorgensen  read a letter of appreciation from Mary Bridge regarding our gifts to them this year. 

New Business:  The club voted in Jaymee and Stephanie Strasbaugh for full membership.
