February 14, 2007 Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order at
7:03 pm and adjourned at 8:40 pm.
No one claimed the big fish pot. Special guests were Eric Woods and
Aaron Christel, past members, that are looking to rejoin the club, and Harrison
(15) sat in on the meeting.
President's Message: Gerald Dunn is back and not leaving for Oregon. He will resume his position as President. Gerald talked about being a member of the FLW/TBF in order to be a club member.
Program Activity: There was no program activity. Gerald will be working on future program activity.
Tips, Tactics and Techniques: Chris Ferry talked about fishing top water frogs and how to fish them. He talked about the tackle needed (rods, lines and hooks) to properly present them. The type of weather needed for a productive frog bite. How to adjust the frog to run true and straight. The different types of areas (structure) to throw the frog to increase your percentage of hooking up. He also talked to the club about the new way to fizz (deflate the air bladder) a fish through its mouth. The fizzing information can be found on the Internet. Chris also recommended that we have two members each month. Marv Walker and Jaymee Strasbaugh are both on for March
Raffle: The raffle generated $52.
Treasurerís Report: Stephanie Strasbaugh reported a balance of $1884.31 with a $450 check to Mary Bridge outstanding.
The January minutes were accepted as posted on the website.
Conservation Report: Marv Walker will try to reserve June 9th for building fish habitat ( net pens ) at Pot Holes.
Federation Report: No report
Tournament Report: Larry Williams talked about why and how the club's tournament fell on Easter Sunday (April 7th). Crowe Butte has been move to Banks Lake for the following weekend (Aug. 25th and 26th). He also talked about the revised Largemouth ban and limits.
Fishing Reports: Lake Sammamish is tough right now.
Safety: No Report
Old Business: The club voted to change the Constitution to include a Vice President. The Chuck Warner was nominated an accepted the new role as Vice President, the club had no abjections. Joe Scheperle will take coat orders at the March meeting (they run around $90).
Gerald will be holding a jig pour at his work on March 17th. He will bring more
information along with directions to the next meeting. Jaymee Strasbaugh
is Aaron Christel buddy and Frank White is Harrisons buddy. Gerald
Dunn would like to have some type of BBQ at the Open on Sammamish. He is going
to think up of some ideas on how to achieve this. Talked about the State
Federation Team and will research the registration fees and present to the club
Klutz nominations: No nominations for the Klutz award. Joe Scheperle will be taking over the Klutz nominations.
Stephanie would like to step down as the Sponsor Director due to her responsibilities as the Treasurer. If any one is interested let Jaymee or Gerald know.
