August 8, 2007 Meeting Minutes


The meeting was called to order at 7:08 pm and adjourned at 8:30 pm.  No one claimed the Big Fish pot.  There were no special guests.  Ron Ryan informed the club on how George Beagle is doing.

Program Activity:  There was no Program Activity.

Tips, Tactics and Techniques: 
Mac Randle talked about 2 techniques he learned while tournament fishing in California.  Joe Scheperle talked about battery maintenance and tips to increase the life of your batteries.  He also expressed the importance of having a set of jumper cables on your boat for jumping the trolling motor batteries to the cranking battery.  Bryan Vance and Jaymee Strasbaugh are on for next month. 

Raffle: The was no raffle.

Treasurerís Report:  Stephanie Strasbaugh
reported a balance $1640.10.

The July minutes as posted on the Internet were approved.

Conservation Report:  Contact Marv Walker if you are interested in volunteering for the Cast For Kids this weekend 8/11 at the Pot Holes.

Federation Report: Larry Williams made a motion to donate $200 to Gene Batey and the club voted in favor of sending $200 to the Batey family.

Tournament Report: Larry Williams talked about the Lower Columbia River finishes and Kenny reorted the techniques he used to win.  Larry also went over the Banks Lake tournament times.   We will be blasting off from Coulee Playland at 5:45 am with the drivers meeting at 5:30 am.  Tournament hours will be from 5:45 am until 3:00 pm on Saturday and from 5:45 am until 1:00 pm on Sunday.  Chris Ferry and Bryan Vance will be the Tournament Director and Weigh Master for the Banks Lake Tournament.   Stephanie will start working on the Mickelson Open fliers so we can start promoting the tournament.   Stephanie will also work on ordering the trophies for the Open as well.

New Business:  Gerald Dunn nominated Kenny G., Mike Peters, Mike Buse and Hoss as the tournament committee for choosing the 2008 schedule. Turn your choice of lakes (no more than 3) into 1 of the 4 committee members listed above.

Klutz nominations: Jaymee Strasbaugh was nominated by Kenny G. for casting his rod into Lake Kapowsin over the weekend.
